Create your local identity.
Open Whispr, choose a name and a strong passphrase. Your identity is created on your device, without an email address or phone number.
- 02 / KEEP A WAY BACK
Save your recovery file.
Keep the encrypted recovery file and its passphrase safe, separately. You’ll need both to restore your identity on a replacement device.

Pair, then talk.
Add a contact using a single-use pairing QR code or shared link. Once paired, you can send and receive encrypted messages.

Private messages and media are encrypted on your device before sending. The service carrying them does not receive the keys needed to read them. Your passphrase protects the identity and conversations saved on your device.

Recovery is in your hands. Whispr cannot reset a lost passphrase or recover an identity without its recovery file.
Understand the boundaries
Network and service operators can observe connection metadata. Device security and recipient behaviour also matter. Whispr has not undergone an independent security audit.

A HOME SCREEN AWAY
Ready when you are.
On iPhone, open getwhispr.app in Safari and choose Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android, use your browser’s Install app or Add to Home screen option. Menu names can vary.
Messages need an internet connection. Ordinary undelivered messages expire after seven days; open and unlock Whispr regularly to collect them.
